Primary Focus: Awareness of tobacco-related diseases, prevention, tobacco-use assessment, cessation support, and health guidance.
Target Population: The general population, with particular focus on tobacco users, youth, adults, families, and people at increased risk of tobacco-related diseases
Project Goal: To reduce tobacco use and exposure to tobacco smoke in Bangladesh through awareness, prevention, cessation support, healthy lifestyle promotion, and timely health guidance.
Community Awareness Programs
Conduct community-based awareness programs on the harmful effects of tobacco use, secondary smoke, addiction, tobacco-related diseases, and the benefits of quitting tobacco.
Seminars & Health Talks
Organize seminars, health talks, discussion sessions, and public awareness events with qualified doctors, health professionals, and relevant experts.
Free Tobacco Use Assessment & Cessation Guidance
Provide free assessment of tobacco-use habits and basic cessation guidance to help tobacco users understand their level of use, health risks, and steps toward quitting.
Free Health Advice & Guidance
Provide free health advice on quitting tobacco, managing cravings, healthy lifestyle practices, preventing relapse, and reducing tobacco-related health risks.
Leaflet & Educational Material Distribution
Prepare and distribute educational leaflets, brochures, posters, banners, and other awareness materials on tobacco-related health risks and tobacco cessation.
Social Media Awareness Campaigns
Use Facebook and other digital platforms to share tobacco prevention messages, health tips, educational content, videos, quitting advice, and campaign updates.
Health Awareness Videos & Photo Documentation
Produce educational videos, awareness messages, interviews, and photo-based content highlighting the dangers of tobacco and the benefits of a tobacco-free lifestyle.
Health Talk Shows & Public Discussions
Arrange health talk shows, interviews, live sessions, and public discussions featuring doctors, health professionals, public health experts, and other relevant speakers.
Community Outreach & Engagement
Engage communities, educational institutions, workplaces, factories, markets, and local organizations through tobacco awareness, prevention, cessation support, and health education activities.
Youth & Educational Institution Programs
Conduct tobacco prevention programs among students and young people to discourage tobacco initiation and promote tobacco free lifestyles.
Workplace & Public Place Campaigns
Promote tobacco free workplaces and public spaces through awareness campaigns, discussions, educational materials, and community engagement
Over the four-year project period, FDAP will implement tobacco awareness, prevention, cessation guidance, and health education activities across communities, residential areas, workplaces, industries, educational institutions, healthcare institutions, public places, and other suitable venues, supported by multiple publics, institutional, media, and digital platforms.
Community & Residential Areas
Conduct community awareness programs, health education sessions, seminars, health talks, leaflet and educational material distribution, and community outreach activities in residential areas, community halls, local meeting spaces, and other suitable venues, targeting approximately 50,000+ people.
Workplaces & Corporate Organizations
Reach approximately 8,500+ employees and staff through workplace awareness programs, seminars, health talks, discussion sessions, leaflet distribution, tobacco prevention campaigns, cessation guidance, and educational activities.
Factories & Industrial Areas
Reach approximately 20,000+ workers through tobacco awareness programs, factory-based seminars, health talks, group discussions, leaflet and educational material distribution, prevention education, and outreach activities.
Markets & Public Places
Conduct public awareness campaigns, awareness sessions, health talks, leaflet and poster distribution, tobacco prevention activities, and community engagement programs targeting approximately 10,000+ people.
Community Centres & Local Organizations
Engage approximately 12,000+ community members through seminars, health talks, awareness sessions, discussion programs, leaflet distribution, cessation guidance, and community outreach activities.
Educational Institutions
Conduct seminars, awareness sessions, health talks, interactive discussions, leaflet distribution, educational campaigns, and anti-tobacco activities in 80+ schools, colleges, universities, and other educational institutions to reach students, teachers, and staff.
Hospitals, Clinics & Healthcare Institutions
Develop partnerships with 40+ healthcare institutions for professional participation, health seminars, awareness sessions, expert talks, leaflet distribution, cessation guidance, referral, health education, and community activities.
Parks & Open Public Spaces
Conduct public awareness campaigns, open-air seminars, health talks, awareness sessions, leaflet and poster distribution, tobacco prevention activities, and community engagement programs targeting approximately 15,000+ people.
Community Halls & Social Gathering Places
Organize seminars, health awareness meetings, discussion sessions, educational programs, and leaflet distribution in community halls, social clubs, local organizations, and other suitable gathering places, targeting approximately 5,000+ people.
Rural & Urban Communities
Gradually expand project activities to 70+ rural and urban communities across different districts of Bangladesh through community seminars, health talks, awareness campaigns, leaflet distribution, educational activities, outreach programs, and local partnerships.
Radio & Television
Broadcast tobacco awareness programs, interviews, health talk shows, expert discussions, seminar/event coverage, and public service messages to reach a large nationwide audience.
Newspapers & Online News Media
Publish tobacco-related health articles, campaign reports, seminar/event coverage, expert interviews, awareness messages, and public health information to reach a wide national audience.

Through this project, FDAP aims to create healthier and tobacco-free communities by increasing awareness, preventing tobacco initiation, supporting tobacco users to quit, and reducing exposure to tobacco smoke.
